Closed Mondays, or the following day if Monday is a public holiday; also closed on weekdays following public holidays, with the centre’s weekend/holiday exceptions. Traveler note

Explore photographs and shared memories of everyday life in Sendai’s coastal communities before the 2011 disaster, drawn from contributions by residents and others. A related Arahama discussion is announced for 8 November 2026, 13:30–15:00, in the same second-floor exhibition room, with no advance application required. Other talks and tours have their own arrangements; consult the organiser before joining. The venue is inside Arai Station; the organiser’s flyer uses historical community photographs. Our photograph shows the station exterior in December 2025, not the exhibition room or the historical photographs on display.
